On February 7th, 1959, New Orleans blues guitarist Guitar Slim died of pneumonia aged 32. Slim was best known for the song "The Things That I Used to Do" and experimented with distorted overtones on the electric guitar a full decade before Jimi Hendrix.

Recorded by Alan Lomax in 1959, Cecil Augusta's Stop All the Buses is notable for its unique guitar style, elements of which would be found in the later Electric Blues. "The perfect example of an artist who shows up at a field recording session and leaves before anyone realizes how good he was".

"Come Back Corrina" was recorded in 1929 by Henry Sims on vocals and Charley Patton on guitar, along with 3 other songs. Sims had backed Patton's own recording the same year, and would later be recorded with Muddy Waters in 1941-2; after that there are no further references to Sims.
