My opponent played Bf5 here, and the engine said this was a big blunder, that changed the evaluation from around 0.0 to around +3.25. But why is that such a massive mistake? My opponent loses 1 point in material after trading 1 R for 2 Bs. Why would that cost them 3.25 evaluation points?

I'm currently practicing the Rousseau Gambit as black. I think I'll stick with it. It's a bit risky, but a very fun opening that can sometimes get you very quick and easy wins.

I'm a lousy 1100 elo, but somehow I managed to win a daily game against someone with a rapid rating of 2260 after spotting mate in 4 in this spot (even though normally I often don't even see mate in 2 🤣). White to move. Can you find mate in 4?

I'm kind of struggling to understand the subtleties of positional chess.... Why is the move c4 almost 1.5 evaluation points better for white here than Nd2? What's the idea behind c4? I thought trying to kick off that annoying knight on e4 should be the priority here, but I guess I'm wrong.

This is a very common opening that can arise after white makes some common inaccuracies, which puts black at a -1.27 advantage after move 7. But why is this position so good for black? And if you're a more experienced player, what would be your long-term plan here as black?

Why does the engine consider Rxc6 as the best move for white here? I briefly considered this move during the game, but didn't like it because I thought it would only strengthen black's isolated pawn after b7xc6? So why does the engine suggest Rxc6 here?
