Pronunciation of "homage"

For most of my life, I pronounced this word a specific way.

Then a few years ago, every time I head this word, it was consistently being pronounced DRASTICALLY differently.

When I questioned multiple people about this shift in pronunciation, I was basically laughed at and told that it's always been the 2nd way- by everyone I asked- to the point where I questioned how on EARTH I came to think of the word as being spoken the way that I had always pronounced it! I suddenly couldn't find a SINGLE other person who said it my way- for YEARS.

Then, two days ago, I was watching SOMETHING on YouTube, I think, and this random chick said it the way I've always said it!! and I damn near shit a brick because I had just about all but given up on the matter.

So, now that I know that I'm NOT crazy, that at least ONE other person out there says it the same as me, I'm curious to know how all of you would say this word? I chose not to explain the two variations, I don't want to sway your first inclination.
