What is going on?

I have watched Tims videos for a few years now after randomly discovering one of his old holiday park videos. I really enjoyed the video and as a result caught up with rest of his content and started watching his videos every week as he released them.

Recently I have fallen off watching them as I think I have become a bit bored of him just reviewing high end hotels and miss the lowest rated hotels and holiday park videos. I was bored shitless the other day and randomly searched for 'WalkWithMeTim' here on reddit to see if anybody else felt the same. I found a discussion in the old subreddit talking about Tims content and how they also missed his older style videos. The next day I tried to go back to the sub and found it had been banned.

Confused as to why a subreddit dedicated to a pretty harmless travel youtuber would be banned I searched his name again, finding the 'snark' subreddit. This sub just seemed dedicated to talking shit about Tim and his family, which just seemed really bizarre to me. As I have stated myself, I have become a bit bored of Tims content and wish he would change it up a bit, but he seems like a nice guy and his videos are completely inoffensive. I don't really understand how people have such an issue with him and are so full of hate over something so trivial. Sure he can be quite cringe at times, and sometimes he comes out with stuff in his videos that make me shake my head with how out of his depth he comes across, but does that really deserve the hate?

Am I completely missing something here?
