What noodles did I eat in Vietnam?

I visited Vietnam in 2005 and spent some time on a tour between Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. Any time there was a meal served on the tour, it always included a bowl of vermicelli noodles. They were golden-brown, and the sauce was kinda savory and oily with a bit of a spicy kick. They were DELICIOUS. I've tried to find them back in the US, but every time I order vermicelli noodles at a Vietnamese restaurant, I get plain, white, unseasoned noodles.

What did I eat in Vietnam, and/or how can I order it here?
