Any Fire Mages out there? Looking for advice, and sharing my build.

I started playing Tarisland and went for Mage, and honestly wasn't liking the ice mage style, but then I unlocked fire mage, and it was a slow start, but now at lvl 40 gs 92 I'm loving it and staying at the top of dps charts pretty frequently, only losing to some warriors and shadow duelers.

For my talents I use (from top to bottom, left to right):

  • Searing Sting+ 3/3 (DMG and CRT buff to Searing Sting)
  • Rapid Explosion 3/3 (Heat Bomb Cooldown reduction)
  • Flame Master 3/3 (Crit Rate buff)
  • Charged Spur 2/2 (Gives Searing sting 3 charges with instant CD refresh (8% chance) on skill use)
  • Blazing Orb+ 3/3 (DMG and CD buff for Blazing Orb)
  • Skyfire 1/1 (Replaces Fireball for Skyfire, stronger but has a cast time)
  • Heat Catalysis 3/3 (Casting Heat Bomb makes your next Skyfire instant cast)
  • Solar Flare 2/2 (CRT and CRD buff for consecutive Skyfires, useful for waiting on cooldowns)
  • Skyfire+ 3/3 (Skyfire does more DMG and DOT)
  • Recharge Jewel 2/2 (Blazing Orb now has 2 charges, and adds more heat for Heat Bomb)
  • Precise Blast 3/3 (Just a general buff to the heat detonation)
  • Flame Rush 2/2 (Lowers cooldown of Flame boost, which is your steroid)
  • Flame Boost+ 2/2 (Flame Boost lasts longer with CRD buff)
  • 32/32 Points

Now I'm not sure of the numbers on Flame Boost because the ingame tooltip is bugged to show Flame Tornado's, but I've hit a 12k with it so it's definitely working well.

As for my opener rotation (mostly for bosses but everything recharges fast eough to use on trash too), I'll label Skyfire as 1, Searing Sting as 2, Heat Bomb as 3, Blazing Orb as 4, Flame Boost as 6.

You use Blazing Orb first because it has a delay before it hits, giving you time to cast heat bomb and get the stacks for it, and with Cooldown built, Heat bombs timer is paused when Blazing Orb hits it, giving you more time to build stacks. Then Blazing Orb again, and then you cast Searing Sting to put it on charge, cast your instant Skyfire and hoping that it procs the Searing Sting refresh, and then just spam Searing Sting after.

When everything is on cooldown just camp Skyfire, and once you have at least one charge of Blazing Orb, you can go into a shorter burst, omitting the second Blazing Orb. When your Flame Boost is coming off cooldown, then it's a good idea to wait for both your blazing orbs, and then repeat the opener.

As for clearing trash packs, hopefully your tank wall to walls it, because your Flame Tornado reduces its cooldown for every enemy it hits, with 5 enemies being an instant recharge. Once your Tornado no longer instantly refreshes you can just single target them down using the opener, everything should be back up in time for the boss, but feel free to hold back cooldowns if you want to, it's not that big a deal.

As for Inscribed Stone usage, if it's up and you already did your burst, wait for heat bomb to come off cooldown, then activate it, and this is what I do:

3>1>2>3>1>2 and so on until the stone wears off.

Heat Bomb makes Skyfire instant cast, Skyfire (hopefully) refreshes Searing Sting, Searing Sting refreshes Heat Bomb, and repeat.

This is what has been working for me, I'd love to hear from anyone else who plays Fire Mage for improvements or other playstyles!
