Downsides of the anime adaptation

Hello everyone! So I wanna start off by saying I love SL; I’ve been a fan as the main story was still publishing. I may be bias since this was my first manhwa and now is top 10 for me lol. I’m also happy that this series introduced me to other bangers like ORV and even Tomb Raider. Back when we were manhwa-only, people would be dissing on other level-up stories saying it was SL dupe and while I do agree some of these stories are insanely repetitive, it was a mostly true statement. It’s not the first of its kinda webnovel wise but manhwa wise it was one of the first adaptations and set the bar high. ANYWAY now that I got that out I wanna rant about the impact of the anime. See it’s every readers dream to have their series get an anime adaptation and have it done WELL and I’m so glad A-1 picked it up since the anime is PHENOMENAL. It’s great that it’s also introduced more people to the fandom and manhwa etc. I just really hate when people keep comparing it to Frieren saying it doesn’t deserve an of the anime awards it got in 2024. Like cmon they’re not even the same genre you cannot compare them. There’s some ppl who watch 3 episodes and then go around calling it mid-leveling. I just feel rlly disappointed bc of that idk lol this post is just a rant but I wish more people would give it a shot without all the comparison. I really hope this doesn’t happen when ORV gets adapted 😭😫
