Does Shadowdark work well for urban adventures, social encounters etc.?

Title. Shadowdark is obviously old school dungeon-crawl inclined, just wondering if anybody has experience running sessions/adventures outside of this context? Like an adventure in a city, a more political campaign etc.? Really love how elegant and simple the system looks but wondering how much variety there is in terms of the kind of campaign you can run. Thanks!
