Has anyone had sesamoid surgery just for sesamoiditis?

Has anyone ever had a sesamoid removal just for sesamoiditis and no fractures? Just curious to see how frequently this is done for people who have confirmed sesamoiditis but no apparent fractures and if so did it work ?
