Pagan holy mountain adventures

Ślęża was likely considered a holy place for pagans for thousands of years. Its pretty much confirmed that both Slavic and Germanic tribes considered it sacred, and theres some evidence to suggest Celtic influence too.

Pictured are views from the forest trail and some of the ancient cult sculptures found there. Theres also a chapel at the top presumably to dispel any pagan influence there, I've heard from several people that the neo pagans and christians have actual beef over this place which is very funny (potentially explains the knocked over stone stacks with a cross next to them).

It's very grounding to walk these forests and know that people thousands of years ago felt the same mysticism and reverence towards nature. Theres something deeply human about it, makes you feel closer to not just those people, but all people in a way.
