An update on my death post

The friend I mentioned in the post passed away last week. I just found out today. His name was Bob and he was 85.

I am devastated, but feel some relief that he is not suffering anymore.

It’s bittersweet having elderly friends. He was such a good person. He was so kind and never met a stranger.

One time I ran into him on the street when I was with my friend and he gave her a piece of candy and gave me a little bell that he said he’d been saving for me, but wanted to give it to me in person. He also gave me this pink frog figurine from a tea shop. He was very fascinated by Asian and European cultures, specifically Japan, and tea houses. He travelled around Europe when he was younger, I want to say when he was the Air Force, but it might have been independent of that. Either way he was very well traveled and remained curious up until the end.

At one time we both had black cats and bonded over that. His cat was named Markie Man, my cat was named Chai. Both of our cats have passed away as well.

Bob was an avid reader and part of a book club, one of his favorite songs was Chariot by Beach house, he also liked Olivia Rodrigo a lot.

I will miss our long phone conversations, holiday cards, and the wisdom one can only get from someone who’s lived many lives such as himself.

He had a partner named Rita who passed many years ago, now they’re together again.

Rest in Peace and I’m praying for your transition Bob, love you lots.
