What am I not understanding about Captain America

Hello! Platinum Strategist main here.

I hear a lot of people say cap isn’t powerful but I find him to be, outside of iron man, the most OP character in the game if played well. He dives and just LIVES forever, whacking me or the other support, a dps finally comes to help, he dives out, then dives back in.

He never dies. Like, ever. What am I missing here? What is the strategy for 1) getting him off your back line (or off of me specifically) and 2) actually killing him?

Usually C&D or invisible woman.
