I described Richmond as Canada's Irvine, California because it has a wealthy Asian community. Accurate?

Background: I was on vacation in Canada back in August and I landed at YVR in order to go to Banff by car. I had previously stayed in Downtown Vancouver two years prior for a cruise trip to Alaska, but this was the first time I stayed in the area. The next day, we were heading to Kelowna for the night on the way and me and my family begin to notice the large Asian population everywhere (from the hotel to the SkyTrain station to the IHOP we had breakfast at) and we practically said that we feel like we're at home (I'm Vietnamese American with some Hoa (ethnic Chinese in Vietnam) ancestry from my father's family and parents lived in Hong Kong briefly during the last British years before returning to the US). Combine this with the Teslas, the suburban nature, the high costs, the Asian and high end malls, and it reminded me of being back in Irvine, California which is close to where I live. I ask this because I used this comparison to some of my friends back at home who are also Vietnamese American themselves.

For comparison, Irvine is about 45% Asian, and the median house income is $US122,948.
