RLC-811A best option for viewing details far away?

So I want to mount a camera in the window inside my home so that I can check the surfing conditions about 1.5 km away when I’m not at home. I cannot check with my eyesight alone but with a 7x binocular it’s possible. Does this camera fit the bill? FOV is supposed to be 31 degrees which might be a bit wide but if details are good I can digitally zoom further I guess. Would be good if I could detect if anyone was out in the water.

Will it be bad when the sun is in the back of line of sight or can it cope?

Better options? Don’t need zoom, lights, alarms or anything like that. Just live stream video to check surf conditions.
