AI has irreversibly damaged society by fucking over the applied visual arts

yesterday, i was shopping online for a 2025 calendar (yes, it's almost february). well, if you don't want a calendar with an AI image--if you for some reason prefer to look at photos or art made by a human--you're out of luck. there's only pages upon pages of listings that are different but look the same: blurry landscapes, multicolored anime women, grinning cartoon snakes. what should've been a cute seasonal chore has become a sisyphean task of sorting away slop and squinting at suspiciously generic kittens ;(
