Thoughts on In-Patient Alternative To Meds Center
My mom's mental health illness began after a psychotic break episode due to decades of pent up trauma from my dad's emotional abuse. That episode was initially triggered after accidentally ate a piece of chocolate with THC that put her in a state of panic, fear, and depression with psychotic symptoms.
It was like watching a scary movie unfold the way here body subdued to catatonia, multiple suicide events, bizarre behaviors, extremely aggressive behaviors, etc. There were days where she was normal, and the next day it was debilitating for her to even exist. It's been a vicious cycle of psych hospitalizations where she would start on medications and stop abruptly after discharge.
It seems like we've tried everything-- every medication on the market, TMS, ECT, psilocybin, ketamine, EMDR, you name it, my mom has probably tried it. Unfortunately, she is still not doing too well and barely living day by day in agony, depression, irritability, and anxiety.
I came across a place called Alternative to Meds Center in Sedona, Arizona. Has anyone heard of this place or known anyone that has gone there? It is quite expensive at $65,000 for two months, but if it helps my mom we are willing to try it. This a holistic center that claims to help taper people off psych meds.
I do think that the psych meds have made my mom's condition a lot worse over the years, which is why this place seems to promising. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Please stay strong, everyone ❤️
