Hand quilting with too thick batting
Ok so I posted about my "make it up as I go along" first go at quilting which is breaking all the cardinal rules of quilting and will probably see me put in quilting jail, but I'm very low on options so this is how it will be. I bought the batting in Sweden (where I live), not a counry known for quilting so I'm suspecting they sold me batting that was way too thick. Currently I'm sitting in the airport trying to quilt it after assembling it on a kitchen floor a few hours ago. Does it look horrible? Will the batten be okay? Should I have the quilting lines closer? I can't do several stitches at a time due to afformentioned thick batting. Sorry for my heresy. I just want it to turn out (somewhat) nicely.
