Should I trust this?

So basically I'm trying to recover a TikTok account and people say to message this person that helps people recover etc etc. I text them on TT about my account thing and they say "DM me on Telegram". Now I searched it Telegram is safe and it's apparently used amongst hackers. And all the other sort of people that do the same thing also say to go to Telegram. Should I trust this? EDIT: Can't use the email.
