What to pair with a D2?

Hello! I just got a great deal on a used D2 1000w locally. I’m trying to figure out if I can pair something like a D1 air with it (mpb has them for cheap) or if I go with something else? Sell the D2 and get a cheaper system? Just don’t think I can justify the retail price of a D2. This is for home studio use with not a crazy amount of volume.
