Can an international student get into Med school?

Hello, I am an international student from India currently studying as a premed student in USA. After seeing the admission statistics for many med schools in the US, this question has been bothering me for quite a while: Is it possible for an international student to actually get into medical schools in US?

If yes, is there anything extra I would need to do to help my application? (examples: aim for a higher GPA/do extra volunteering/ be in more clubs etc)

(For context, here is what I know so far based on AAMC data: Out of 155 medical schools in USA, 40 schools consider applications from international students, and even out of those, most seats are kept for in-state applicants)
