What was the deal with the band Atticus Fault?

Atticus Fault was a totally obscure band that released a killer self-titled album in 2002. I remember listening to it and thinking "damn, this band is gunna be huge". Their sound was crisp and clear, and I they must've spent a lot of money on making their album because it was so refined.

Now I look at their page on Spotify, and I see that they have 85 monthly listeners, and I am stunned at how little popularity they have. It doesn't make sense to me - their music was fantastic AND their sound was refined. How do they have so little listenership?

Does anybody know their story? Has anyone else here listened to them?
