Adopted Dog Tail

Friend moving away so I've adopted this guy plus more than are in better shape. DT is in a plastic liner inside a sort of wicker hanging basket. Any tips on cleaning it up, repotting and possibly propagating any cuttings worth saving? Planning on repotting into a nursery pot and letting it hang in basket possibly. I have mostly south and west windows and north facing patio with good evening light. Haven't watered yet but it did get stormed on while I was at work 😬
