The Proflex Dilemma

I’ve noticed that all of the newer proflexes aren’t as popular as anything Pre GI era. Is this just due to the fact that nostalgia is king? I always see wallets thrown at anything pre 2016 but never for most of the new stuff. Are there legitimate differences that make the KEE and OG era proflex models so popular or are people just stuck in the past?
