[Serious] In the 1979 playoffs, Rams HOF Jack Youngblood suffered a fractured left fibula against the Cowboys in the Divisional round. He would return to the game and get a sack. He then played in the NFC Conference Championship, the Super Bowl, and Pro Bowl with the fractured fibula.

Youngblood played his entire career with the Rams from 1971 to 1984 as a defensive end.

During his playing career, Youngblood was a 7x Pro Bowler, 5x First Team All Pro, 3x Second Team All Pro, 2x NFC defensive player of the year, NFL 1970s All Decade Team, inducted in the Rams Hall of Fame with his number retired and inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

He also had an unofficial 151.5 sacks since Sacks were not tracked before 1982.

However, despite his accolades, what he is most remembered for is playing the entire 1979 playoffs with a fractured fibula.

During the game against the Cowboys, Youngblood suffered the fractured fibula at the beginning of the second quarter due to a chop block which you can see here:

As Youngblood himself stated, he told the doctor to tape his leg up so that he could return to the game.

He felt that it was his responsibility as the Captain of the team to get into the game and continue playing.

He would return to the game after missing a few minutes while getting his left leg taped.

Following the victory against the Cowboys, Youngblood would play the entire game against the Bucs in the NFC Championship, against the Steelers in the Super Bowl, and then he would play in the Pro Bowl.
