Does the money tree stop you from getting stuff if you’re greedy?

I may have gotten greedy for food to get my blumaroo from dying to not hungry lol and now whenever I click anything, it says it’s gone already. It’s been this way for three hours. Does the tree do this when you’re greedy? I also donated stuff too
