Confused and need help setting up the nectar bed frame/ headboard with the adjustable base

Hi and thanks for taking a moment to help.

I purchased the nectar bed frame with headboard, the Luxe mattress and the Luxe adjustable base.

I'm receiving conflicting information from both customer service and the manual for the adjustable base.

As it currently stands, the bed frame is resting on its included legs and the adjustable base is resting on it s included legs within the bed frame. The height of the bed is just too high for me to be able to get into.

I called customer service and they indicated that I could lower the adjustable base by unscrewing, both the 2 inch and 3 inch leg extensions, leaving me with the 8 inch legs. They mentioned that I needed to make sure that the slats were removed (which I haven't installed).

The Luxe adjustable base instruction manual makes mention of being able to place the adjustable base with no legs directly onto the slats of the bed frame. In addition, they even included some rubber anti-slip pads for this purpose.

I'm completely confused as I don't want to do the wrong thing but I would prefer to be able to use the adjustable base on top of the slats of the bed frame if possible.
