Years of exercise migraines
Has anyone here ever managed to successfully treat exercise-induced migraines? I posted about this here ages ago and have still yet to find any kind of solution for myself.
In terms of what I'm experiencing, the migraines only seem to happen when I do any kind of intense cardio activity. Lower cardio, lifting weights, low-intensity sports aren't an issue at all. But a long run, or, in my case, my playing hockey, are a sure way for me to get a killer migraine every time. Also, the migraine itself usually doesn't tend to really set in until 1-2 hours after I've finished exercising. It also feels distinctly different from my other typical migraines.
I've tried different preventative meds, or taking an anti-inflammatory beforehand. I hydrate like crazy. I've had my neck and shoulders treated specifically for this by a chiropractor. I get massages. I've had my circulation checked.
What I also find really interesting is that, even though I've been on Aimovig for the last six months and it's been VERY effective at suppressing my other triggers and vastly decreasing my number of monthly migraine days, it seems to have absolutely no effect on preventing this type whatsoever. This leads me to believe this is some other cause entirely from what normally triggers my migraines.
Literally any hints, help, suggestions are welcome from those who've successfully worked on this before or have any ideas.
TLDR; Migraines 1-2 hours after cardio, feels different from typical migraines, isn't prevented by Aimovig even though it works for everything else for me.
