Was given this migraine protocol to try but I'm skeptical...

Bit of a rant. I finally, finally got referred to a migraine and chronic pain specialist after years. I was so ready, I had all my notes and results from various other specialists that I had been sent to, ready to relive explaining all of my symptoms again to the 100th person. To my knowledge, he is not a neurologist. I currently only take sumatriptan and Ubrelvy as abortives.

When I arrived, they had me fill out the MIDAS questionnaire. I sit down and he immediately starts by saying he focuses on Botox treatments before we even go over any symptoms and that It's $3000 /year. I told him I was there to get a formal diagnosis so we can work on why I'm experiencing all these new symptoms (dizziness/visual disturbances/higher frequency, etc.) and if they're even migraine related. He then pulls up a diagram of the brain and said I could have nerve blocks any time I want? (I know botox treatments and nerve blocks work for many, many people on this sub but I just am not sure if they're right for me just yet.)

He sends me away with this two page long migraine protocol I should try for a month and then follow up. Again, I am not denying that any of these things work but I need some outside input because the vibes were that of a botox and vitamin sales pitch.

List of vitamins I should take:

  • Plant based omega (specifically from "Pure Life Science," conveniently only sold at his office) because fish based omegas aren't tolerated by the human body
  • VitaAid multiplex
  • Magnesium synergy
  • CoQ10
  • Curcuplex
  • Vitamin D3/K2
  • PEAK (???)

Lifestyle changes:

  • Gluten and dairy free because they "contain tremendous amounts of the herbicide 'Round Up' and to avoid corn because it's now considered a pesticide and not food." Also avoid peas, soybeans, rye, lentils, buckwheat, canola, potatoes, sugar beets unless organic
  • avoid canola, soy, corn, vegetable oils and margarine
  • unplug the modem at nighttime because wifi signals are harmful
  • drink 1L of Fiji water a day because a study said that it helps bind heavy metals? (this one made me the most crazy lmao who can afford to drink 1 litre of Fiji water every single day?!?!?!)

He wants me off all medication. I'm about to start anxiety/depression meds and he said he wanted to "work around that." Everyone I've seen, even my therapist says all my physical pains and ailments is anxiety related so I need to do something, I'm going crazy.

I'm willing to try gluten/dairy free but who can afford to do all this? I don't have insurance, I work part time right now. His office has only 5-star ratings. Am I too critical or is this worth pursuing? Tell me I'm not crazy...

EDIT: Y'all, I posted this and left to go run errands and do some housework and got way more responses than I thought I would. Thank you for all your responses! Logically I knew this was bananas and I'd tell a friend it was crazy but when you're told all you have is anxiety, you start to doubt whether or not any treatments or recommendations will or will not help... 🥲 I appreciate all of you! ❤️
