Why is my local weather prediction always wrong?

I live in Emerald Hills, CA and I notice that my weather report via Google/Apple, etc is systematically incorrect during the summer. Consistently, there will be a predicted high temperature but the actual high temperature will be systematically higher than the prediction. I understand that predictions are not guarantees but my expectation is that the error should be roughly equally likely in both directions, low and high. In practice, if I want to know how hot it will be tomorrow today's actual temperature is a better guess rather than tomorrow's prediction (in fact, if it's 11am and I want to know how hot it will be today I should actually look at yesterday's actual temperature rather than today's prediction). I'm just wondering if there's a reasonable explanation!
