Erasmus + Traineeship in Norway 🇳🇴

Hi everyone, I'm a third-year medical student studying Medicine and Surgery in Italy, and I'm considering applying for an Erasmus Plus traineeship to gain practical experience in a hospital setting abroad. I've been thinking about Norway as my primary destination, but I could use some advice on the best way to approach this and any potential backup plans.

I've reached out to a few university hospitals in Norway, including the University Hospital of Bergen and the University Hospital of Northern Norway in Tromsø, but I've run into a bit of a roadblock. It seems that most Norwegian hospitals require a cooperation agreement with my university, and unfortunately, my university does not have any such agreements in place.

Given this, I'm exploring other options. My primary goal is to work in a country that could potentially be a future place of employment, and after some research, I've narrowed it down to Norway, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

I don’t know if it is relevant or not,but I’d like to gain some experience in the neurosurgical/neurological area.

So here's where I need your help:

  • Does anyone have any advice on how to navigate the Erasmus Plus traineeship process in Norway, particularly in hospitals that might be more flexible regarding university agreements?

  • Are there any specific hospitals in Norway that might be worth reaching out to?

  • If Norway doesn't work out, what are the best hospitals or programs in the Netherlands/Switzerland for medical students seeking practical training through Erasmus?

Thanks in advance!
