Ideas for the next Mario Kart:

With MK8 Deluxe reaching 62M copies sold, and having been out for 10 years, I feel like Nintendo needs to do something BIG to make it stand out from Deluxe and build upon the previous MK, so I have a couple of ideas/ game that I believe would make the next MK even bigger than Deluxe.

1: Smash Bros Kart: We already have Non-Mario racers, and with the huge success of the Smash Bros series, it would be amazing to be able to race as Kirby or Fox and racing through a Pikmin level or Metroid space themed course. (Edit: don’t call it Smash Kart, just add more Nintendo characters/tracks)

2: Balloon Battle Racing Mode: Works just like Balloon Battle, but it’s during a regular race. So anybody hit 3 times gets eliminated, must survive 3 laps to finish.

3: Character Ultimates: When you pick up 10 coins, you unlock the racers unique and personal ultimate attack.

4: Add a Community Hub: I would love a bigger social aspect in the next Mario Kart, let me see the profiles of previous racers, let us walk/drive around a hub world like in Diddy Kong Racing or Splatoon.

5: KartFest: Just like Splatfest in Splatoon, but racers wear their respective team colors. Team Bikes vs Team Karts would be a fantastic community event.

6: Customizable Karts: Let us add stickers, change colors of individual parts, wheels, gliders.

7: Give Racers Cosmetics: This is already a thing in MK Mobile, but of course, I’d love to see more variety of cosmetics like hats, glasses, emotes versus just different color variations such as Blue, Green, Purple Yoshis.

8: Big Prix Racing: Courses that are far larger than previous tracks and can fit up to 15-16 racers. Just more chaos and races on larger/longer tracks.

9: Custom Tracks: This has been a request from the fanbase for so long, self explanatory.

Like I said, it’s been 10 years since MK8 released on the Wii U, the next Mario Kart needs to be MUCH GRANDIOSE in order to truly validate such a long timespan between games. I’ll be severely disappointed if the next game is just more Mario themed tracks and characters.
