How strong will Mel be in the late game?

From videos that I have seen, she appears to do a lot of damage and is pretty safe with her shield. Her Q has a pretty long range for poke, and does a good amount of dps, while her ult is a great way to burst champs and finish them off. For those of you who tried her out on PBE, is she more of an artillery mage, a burst mage, or a battle mage? How good is her late game at full build? Would you say ASol/Vladimir type of late game mage?
