First ever knife

These are the very first knives I've ever made. Forging and quenching went by super easy but I had a super hard time with the handles. I used 5 minute set epoxy but despite decreasing and properly prepping everything every time I took it to the belt sander (also first time) the bolster would separate from the brass liner under the scales (not pictured). How would I prevent that in the future? I thought about soldering it.
