Phonics made my daughter realize she has a southern accent
So we live in Georgia and my 5 year old daughter has recently learned to read. This has introduced an interesting "problem" in her life. She'll sound out a word like "get" as "g-eh-t" and say "what's that?" or "what's a p-eh-n?" We prounounce "get" as "git," "pen" as "pin," "when" as "win," etc. I had to break it to her that she has a southern accent and it blew her mind lol. Anyone else with an accent discovering this little issue?
