Bad drivers - What are your experiences?

Well I've been in Japan for 18 months now, had enough near misses that I've lost track of them, but today is the first time I've actually been hit by a car.

It only happened 20 minutes ago and I'm still hyped up on adrenaline so can't go to sleep, so thought I'd come and see if other people have experienced this, as it's really shaken me up.

Same story as every other near miss I've had. I'm crossing the road on a green man, driver doesn't look, accelerates into the turn and shock, someone is crossing the road. I've had people realise and stop in the middle of the road, getting horns from other traffic that then can't continue, ones stop inches from me, ones drive where I'd been a second before, but tonight one didn't even do that and bounced me off the bonnet. Thankfully I seem fine apart from a couple of aches which have just started appearing since arriving home (I'll keep an eye on them) and there was a lovely person walking the other way who saw it all, but it really has shaken me up and made me wonder how bad of a problem it is. Has anybody else had any experience with bad drivers?
