Camera lens protector, yes or no?

Hey, I’ve upgraded from the iPhone 7 to the 16pro, which is absolutely mega! Straight after leaving the Apple Store, I went to a phone shop and got a camera protector put on. Since then, I’ve read online these can reduce camera quality. Is it worth me taking this off? If I did, I’d have to get another, so I can’t really compare the difference beforehand. I have an active job so my phone does get out in lots of bags and pockets. Thanks!
