peace and love, but holy crap

***THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL CALL OUT TO ANY ONE PERSON LMAO, this is due to multiple voices and a cluster of similar discourse***

I literally don't have the brain capacity to vex what I want to flesh out, but there are some things that are truly getting on my nerves, and i guess this is the place to talk about them.

  • Begging Ethan to move on from topics

I guess all I can say is that this shit matters to Ethan, and it's his show. If he needs to get it out of his system and you don't want to listen to it: watch. something. else. He doesn't owe you shutting up on a topic that weighs on him. He doesn't owe any of us bullshit, because it's his show that we signed up for. We can easily remove ourselves from the conversation and fuck off until he's covering shit we want to hear.

  • Crew treatment

It could just be me, but I feel an air of entitlement to the crew. Be it parasocialism, overprotectiveness that's not goddamn necessary, trying to keep them on leashes in pristine boxes- girl. These are adults. They're fine. I can only pray that they have coping mechanisms installed and, AS ADULTS, take care of themselves above all else.

There will always be crazed fans. And to me, those people are not true fans.

What's absolutely the saddest is that the ones screaming at the top of their lungs (be it death threats, harassment, lack of gray space/nuance) will always be what's heard above everyone else. I feel like I'm making this message for a loud minority so comfortable in their view of the show, and how the show must fit into a box they deign for them to be able to continue watching, that they make it everyone's problem.

AB and Olivia and all of the crew are okay. If they aren't, that's between them and Ethan. If it's personal, they can take it to a professional and work on it. But it's not our business.

  • If you still love Hasan, that's YOUR goddamn problem.

Self-explanatory. Pick a side, I'm so serious. This goes for everything.

I dunno, I don't think this will go over well but GIRL. These are a crew of adults, and we are an audience that is CHOOSING. to watch when WE DON'T HAVE TO. Nobody is forcing you to watch when you don't like the topics. And I am NOT. EVER. saying that the show or Ethan or the crew never fuck up or need to be held accountable. I have to ask: when you take yourself back from the situation and remember to view them as human, how truly scathing are these faults? What was Ethan's dry as shit satire versus something he felt from the bottom of his heart?

Let alone age: these are real life people. Please, I beg of you, if you want to be parasocial and baby an adult, find a good anime and pick your baby boy of the month. You can't possibly feel comfortable treating these guys like your dolls at playtime. You can't rip Barbie's hair out for not acting the specific way you projected onto her. They're human. I can't imagine how constricting it can feel sometimes.

BUT. Toxic will always exist. At the end of the day, all I want for the crew is for them to have a good night, not read too deeply into clusters of bobbling heads, and to find peace in where they can and cannot improve for themselves and themselves only.

Peace and love, I might be THC withdrawing so if this doesn't make sense,... talk to my cat about it.

Every single one of you, have a good night. I mean it.

Or go to therapy, idk, that shit works wonders when you let it. <3!
