Player attributes should be completely hidden in-game.

You heard me.

It isn't realistic that you should be able to know (within 5%) exactly how good your players are or another's team players are in every attribute.

Instead it should be:

- All players' real attributes are completely hidden in-game.
- The attributes you see for your players in-game are the opinion of your ass man or scouts or coaches or whoever - but they can be wrong. Obviously better staff members will generally be more accurate, but their opinions are also influenced by the player's performances (so a player on a run of good form above his actual capability might have his attributes over-estimated by your staff).
- For players outside of your team you can only see your staff's opinions of their attributes and the better your scouting network is the more accurate this will be. For low reputation/physically distant players who haven't been scouted you won't be able to see most of their attributes, because your staff don't know anything about them.
- When making signings or deciding who to play from your team you'll need to decide based on your staff's opinions of them and how they've actually been performing in-game. Look at chalkboard stats, form, all of that.

It would be a pretty radical shift from the current system but it would make the game more realistic and in my opinion more engaging and challenging.
