What is the cheapest place to get flowers?

I have no money (poor grad student) to spend on hobbies so I normally get clearance flowers from the grocery store for 2-5 dollars but they're often wilted and mostly just roses or grocery store bouquets

Where can I find flowers like amaranthus or cooler flowers for cheap?
