Throwing items on console impossible?

Hello all. I have been playing FS since 2015. I have always been able to throw items that are able to be carried since 2017 or 2019. I cannot figure out how to do it on 2025. If I remember correctly all I had to do was carry an item and press square on the controller, but it doesn't seem to work on FS25. Is it even possible or has the mechanic been removed entirely. I have not joined the pc master race yet, but maybe it is possible on pc. Any guidance would be a very big help. I have almost 80 hours into the game and can't even throw the ball for my dog, I can only pick it up and spin it around.
