Why did memes like Rage Comics, Advice Animals Impact Font, and Demotivational Posters have a long life span compared to memes today?

These are the memes we saw on 9GAG, Meme Center, iFunny, and Cheezeburger from 2008 to 2014. I didn't know about these memes until 2011 when my classmate in high school introduced 9GAG to us.

So throughout my junior and senior high school life (2011-2013) and first two years of college (2013-2015), 9GAG-style memes like these were still being used. The last time I saw a Rage comic, advice animal, and demotivational poster was around late 2014, around October or November of that year.

I remember the last time I shared a Rage Comic in August 2015 about something related to Chemistry, but it felt really outdated for its time.

Even memes from the 2000s like Numa Numa Guy, Charlie Bit My Finger, I Like Turtles zombie kid, scary pop ups, Kfee German horror pop up commercial, GTA SA mythbusting, Club Penguin, and YouTube poop made it all the way to 2012.

Memes nowadays don't even last into two months. Maybe just a month a best. Unlike those memes I mentioned which lasted througout the recession up until Obama's second term.

So what do you guys think why surreal Gen Z or Alpha memes don't last long?
