How on Earth do you stay motivating when dating from apps?
Whenever I (29M) match with a girl on a dating app and hit it off while texting, which is a tiny minority of matches who otherwise have zero ability to hold a conversation, we arrange a date which I'm excited about and they end up either cancelling plans last minute or ghosting. I don't over text or under text, I check in beforehand to confirm we're still on, and otherwise generally do the "right" things. This has happened dozens of times now.
How do you not become sceptical and jaded, and continue to bring positive energy to dating when you know how likely this shi*ty behaviour is as an outcome?
And yes I'm the common denominator, but I believe I have enough self awareness to see that this is the other person's fault (e.g. one hour before: "sorry can we cancel this evening, I got home really hungry and need to sort out food x").
