Why do people want to have 24/7 text conversations?

I guess I don’t have good social skills or just don’t get it. I NEVER had/have constant phone conversations with anyone, even my best friends or family. I never did as a teenager either.

Now every guy I talk to wants to talk 24/7. I don’t get it at all because don’t they ever want to do something else besides talk about the same FUCKING thing every day. It will always be “what are you doing today?” (the same as yesterday and the day before when you asked, I went to work and came home?!??) or they’ll text me pictures of their food, (sorry but I really REALLY don’t care about their food).

I find the obsession with texting me every banal thing they’re doing so exhausting and boring. There’s literally nothing I have to say about that picture of your chicken sandwich. NOTHING

If I try to ask offbeat or interesting questions they’ll think it’s weird and turn them off or be lukewarm not ask anything back. But I guess they think that saying “wyd” every single day is a great conversation. I don’t even know how to get a real and engaging conversation going with these types of people.

I don’t like calling people either because I have to pause what I’m watching or doing to hear the same trite crap they texted me.
