Makes sense switch from a carbon fiber frame to an aluminum frame?

Currently I have a Canyon Ultimate CF SL 7 (2021 model with rim brakes), and I’m considering to switch to a bike with disc brakes, because I came from MTB bikes with disc brakes and I feel the lack of power to stop quickly with my current rim brakes. I like the Emonda ALR 5, which is an aluminum bike, I always heard that is better to have a quality aluminum frame over a cheap carbon frame. Do you think I will notice a big the difference between the carbon frame and the aluminum frame? Or should I buy a bike from van rysel with carbon frame? My biggest concern is the durability of this “cheap” bikes.
