Capitacidabine only treatment for chemo

53m. Rectal tumor originally 2cm. Low rectum

Most of the time I hear of Folfox and Capox options of chemo. Even my Dr said would ve most likely my path after radiation.

However due to my fantastic response to chemo radiation (tumor disappeared) they are considering just giving me Capitacidabine only for a period of time..... just to make sure of any tiny remnants are there it would clean it up.

Has anyone else been in this situation. Where since they scaled back the treatment from Capox to Capitacidabine? And what was the result?

Short of "wait and watch", this would be my preference...as I handled it decently when they paired it with my radiation
