Finally beginning my career in Clinical Research!
After literally hundreds of applications, dozens of interviews, and months spent training, networking, and refining my resume, I finally signed my first offer letter to break into the clinical research space. In March I begin as a CRC I at a large oncology center.
I graduated with my B.S. in Health Sciences & Public Health Admin. a little over a year ago now, but had no prior healthcare or professional research experience. I’ve spent the last year getting every relevant certification I could, networking my ass off, and working at a large public hospital in guest/patient experience.
I’m almost worried it’s a mistake lol. I had three interviews for a Clinical Research Coordinator Associate role but never heard back. Close to two weeks after my last interview and follow up email, I was told that they had filled the CRCA role but were considering me for another position. Then, a few days ago, I received a call and they offered me a true CRC role complete with a $6/hr pay increase from the role I initially interviewed for. I don’t understand it, but I accepted in a blink.
I’m so, so relieved. Now that I have the opportunity I’ll do anything to make the most of it. Thank you to everyone here for the advice, expertise, and time you’ve generously provided to me over the last year.
