Question about long-term wear

I have this metal cage that is so comfortable otherwise, but the little bit of skin on my head that pokes through the middle is very sensitive and gets irritated rubbing against my underwear. How can I make this more comfortable so I can wear my cage out? Or is this just how the cage is and I need another one? Can't figure out how to attach a picture so I'll add it in the comments.
