Solo female traveler

I'm heading to Cancun for a week by myself and my mother is convinced something is going to happen to me if I step off the resort. Can y'all please help me reassure her that I'm going to be fine?

Edit: I'm 32 if that matters. I'm not planning on doing stupid shady shit either.
