Looking for 4k monitor recommendations! :)
I've been using a 27 inch 1440p 240Hz monitor for a while now and it's been great. Now that I've upgraded my PC, I'd like to try out 4k gaming but I'm overwhelmed by all the options. My current monitor would end up being my 2nd monitor.
- 27" preferred. Open to 32" as well. My desk depth is only 24 inches (61 cm) so the bridge of my nose is only around 26-27 inches away from the monitor. Worried that 32" might be too big, especially for competitive games where immersion isn't as important.
- IPS would be ideal, but open to OLED. The OLED upkeep (keeping task bar hidden/minimized, monitor standby mode after a few minutes, rotating wallpapers) seems annoying. But if the best monitors are all OLED then I can learn to deal with it I guess.
- Matte preferred, I have a decent amount of ambient lighting in the room and glossy screens are too reflective.
- Would prefer to have 240+ Hz, maybe 144 at minimum.
GPU is a 5080 and CPU is a 9800X3D. Budget probably around $1300, but I'd like to not hit that if possible lol. I play around 50% competitive games and 50% single player games. Monitors with dual modes like the AW2725QF seem interesting, but no idea how the 1080p mode will look for games like League, Valorant, CS, Overwatch, etc. Maybe worst case scenario I can just get a good 4k monitor and use my 1440p monitor for competitive games and the 4k monitor for everything else?
