is this standard practice for physical therapists here?

hey, just moved here + first time ever visiting a physical therapist

I had shoulder surgery and was looking to start PT as I'm recovering. Did some research (including this sub), called around, eventually decided to go with this clinic. I'm self pay. They told me initial visit will be 160 and follow up visits will be 120. Fair enough I figured.

I went in for my first session and they had me pay 160 on my way out. Great. That was 4 weeks ago.

Today I received a bill in the mail for 320. Credit for 160 I paid on the day of, remaining balance 160. The bill was itemized for (with CPT codes) :

140 for evaluation (97161)

60 for therapeutic activities (97530)

120 for neuromuscular reeducation (97112)

uh what? First of all, none of those three things matches the 160 they told me over the phone (and had me pay on the day of). I don't think they accidentally charged me as a follow up either since it's just a different figure. Next, ok maybe they meant that literally only the consultation is 160 and anything else is extra cost. Let me work your shoulder - extra cost. Let me show you these exercises to do at home - extra cost. since they don't know what's going to happen beforehand, they can't tell me the cost. fine, but the fact that that is what's going to happen really should have been communicated at the beginning since 320 per visit is not something I'm about to do, and I very likely would not have gone there in the first place. This just feels a bit sleazy. fwiw, on the day of my session I went in to meet the PT, explained how I injured my shoulder and what kind of treatments have been done so far, then he moved my arm around to look for specific positions and activities that triggered pain or weakness, then ran me through some rehabilitative exercises to do at home.

anyone have any insight? if this is just the way it is and how all PTs operate then I'd like to know before deciding to continue with this clinic or proceeding with a different one.
